Hello! My name is Amber MacDonald, and I am a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology
student at Yorkville University, currently completing my practicum placement here at Miramichi
Counselling Centre. I hold a bachelor’s degree with a major in Psychology and a minor in
Anthropology, which I earned from St. Thomas University in May 2023.
My approach to counselling draws from a variety of therapeutic frameworks, including
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and Person-Centred
Therapy. My main areas of interest include anxiety, stress and burnout, depression, self-esteem,
relationship issues, and coping skills.
When I’m not working, I enjoy getting lost in a good book, watching movies or TV shows, and
spending time with loved ones. I like to listen to a variety of podcasts when I’m on the go, and
music helps me to relax, stay motivated, and find balance.
I am passionate about supporting individuals as they navigate life’s challenges with empathy,
respect, and collaboration—a journey I’m honoured to walk alongside you.
